The article, “Expansion culture of hair follicle stem cells through uniform aggregation in microwell array devices”, describes a novel approach for the quantitative expansion of hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs) while maintaining their hair induction capacity. Hairfollicle organoids were produced using low attachment plates (PrimeSurface 96U MS-9096UZ). By using a microwell array device and encapsulating HFSCs in Matrigel, researchers achieved a 20-fold increase in HFSC number in just two weeks, which may be beneficial for hair regeneration in the treatment of alopecia.
